Carving Meaning:
The scorpion is one of the "Five Poisons" in Chinese folklore. Ancient Chinese
believed that poison could counteract poison, so wearing a jade scorpion could ward off evil and
protect against harm. This symbolizes using poison to combat poison, thus becoming immune to
all poisons, and represents the idea of avoiding evil and preventing disasters.

The scorpion's body is covered with a hard shell, and its tail has a venomous stinger that can bend
